London Engagement Photographer – Mercedes & Reuben – Grafitti & Guitars
One of the things I really love about being a London Engagement Photographer is all of the brilliant couples I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, and the privilege of being allowed a brief but really personal moment with them. Mercedes, Reuben and I first met at the ExCel London Wedding Fair at the beginning of October. I was thrilled when they had so many of their own ideas for their Engagement Shoot in London’s iconic South Bank – they are both guitarists and told me they were bringing their instruments with them! Awesome!!
We started our shoot in the skateboarding park directly underneath the Royal Festival Hall – the incredible street art and the moody architecture of the area leant itself perfectly to the rock’n roll vibe they brought with them.
After a stroll through the sunshine where we played with sihouettes and a stop off at the incredible red wall outside the National Theatre, we ended up on the Hungerford Bridge which connects the South Bank with the North Bank of the River Thames at Embankment. There’s something really romantic about bridges, and with an ultra cool couple, some creative light and the most incredible architecture as a backdrop, you really can’t go wrong!
With huge thanks to Mercedes and Rueben for being so great to work with, and to my assistant Mark Nortcliffe for holding lights, here are a selection of images from our shoot.
Enjoy!

This was a wonderful opportunity and we managed to arrange the shoot on a glorious sunny day too. John had some great ideas that were really fun for us and we relaxed fairly quickly into the shoot. It was great to work with both John and Mark and now we have lovely photographs that have captured our personalities. Can’t wait to show our family and friends.
Thanks for your lovely comment Mercedes – so glad you enjoyed the shoot and loved the images!
