Drapers Hall Wedding Photographer – St Paul’s Cathedral & Drapers Hall – London
Drapers Hall Wedding Photographer – There are few things more exciting for a London Wedding Photographer, than to be asked to photograph at one of the most iconic London wedding venues – at a landmark recognisable to pretty much anyone and everyone. On 10th May, I got a double whammy – photographing a wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral, followed by a wedding reception at Drapers Hall.
Shooting once again alongside the über talented, award winning photographer Iain Gomes, I set off up to London on an extremely blustery May morning. For those wanting to understand the role of a second photographer a little better, please click here for a blog post on this subject.
Having covered Groom prep with Alastair, we made our way to St Paul’s, where the ceremony was to take place at the OBE Chapel, at the east end of the Crypt. Churches quite often have guidelines set out for photography during a wedding ceremony, and as you would imagine, St Paul’s Cathedral is no different. We were allowed to shoot only up until the first hymn – and then join the couple again for the signing of the register. While this could be frustrating to some, there is also something very beautiful about preserving the most special, meaningful moments of the wedding day for just those that had the privilege of being in the room to witness them.
With Shahrzad’s Iranian heritage, the traditional St Paul’s Wedding Ceremony was followed by an Iranian Wedding Ceremony, or Persian Marriage at Drapers Hall.
Drapers Hall is, in my opinion, one of the most stunning wedding venues in the UK. The building itself is hugely elegant and steeped in history and the exceptional staff and service ensure that the venue maintains its sparkling reputation. Drapers Hall has even appeared in films such as The King’s Speech, and Goldeneye.
I’d like to thank Shahrzad and Alastair, as well as Mr Gomes for having me be a part of their London Wedding Photographer team. Here are a selection of the images I took on the day. I hope you enjoy looking at them – please do feel free to leave me a comment below!
