Destination Wedding Photographer – Eliska & Eric, Ibiza

In as few words as possible, I was completely thrilled when Eliska & Eric (ESquared) asked me to be their Destination Wedding Photographer in Ibiza. Shooting Weddings Abroad is not for the inexperienced – they take significantly more organisation and can pose challenges that the average UK photographer would struggle with. Thankfully, Eric & Eliska met me at the ExCel Wedding Fair in April 2015, and we followed this up with a coffee on the South Bank to discuss the plans for their big day. Eliska and Eric got engaged on a cliff top in Ibiza, and they were planning a spectacular, if completely laid back and relaxed Ibiza Wedding on the same spot, 2 years later.

One of the aspects of my work which I enjoy most of all, is the bond I develop with my couples. Inna and I take our part in their big day very personally, and so I suppose it’s inevitable that by the time the big day actually rolls around, in some cases it genuinely feels as though they are extended family.

Having flown in the day before, Soven, my second shooter and I began our day with a quick recce of the reception venue. Soven then met up with Eric and his groomsmen preparing the clifftop ahead of the celebration, while I popped back to the hotel to capture Eliska’s hair and makeup.

This was actually quite an emotional wedding for me to process – the bond between Eliska and her father completely jumps out of the pictures, and Eric’s face as he sees his beautiful bride walking down the aisle towards him… well, they say a picture tells a thousand words…

The ceremony itself was led by a celebrant who conducted a really beautiful ceremony – and who stayed on to perform magic to the completely enthralled guests, which between Soven and myself we counted covered at least 26 different nationalities! I could probably waffle on about this fantastic Wedding in Ibiza for hours – but instead, I’ll leave you with a selection of my favourite images.
