No, their name is not London! I was contacted about being a London Wedding Photographer after being found on Google. The bride and I met up for a chat at a lovely little coffee shop in London’s Canary Wharf (http://www.taylor-st.com/pages/canary-wharf). I believe there are more dotted around London, including Mayfair and the iconic Tower 42 in the City of London, so do look out for one and give it a try if you have the chance. Our mutual love of coffee turned out to be a good starting point and we were soon discussing details of their intimate, if not entirely traditional, London wedding, her family upbringing, their courtship with plenty of international travel challenges, my children, life in London and more.

The bride, a stunning Texan American (via Mexico) and the groom, originally from the Gulf, both attended the same undergraduate and graduate Universities but did not meet until several years later in London, when a friend introduced them.

They had chosen the Brydon Room at the iconic Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall in the heart of London for their ceremony, followed by a tour of London on a Routemaster Bus for the many overseas guests and their reception at Hispania in the heart of the City of London near the Bank of England. It’s always a fun challenge taking photographs on a moving object, but the genuinely bubbly atmosphere around the bride and groom and all of their guests (no doubt aided by the generous amount of champagne) came through in all of the images.

The reception took place at Hispania, a true flagship of Spanish lifestyle, cuisine and culture in the heart of the City of London, on Lombard Street, just a stone’s throw from Bank. I’d met one of the owners during my site visit, and I have to say, the wedding party were looked after immaculately with tapas aplenty and free-flowing drinks. There wasn’t a formal wedding dinner – in fact, beyond the ceremony, there was very little formality about this wedding day. It was just a pleasure to document this wonderfully warm and joyful day in their lives.

My coverage of the day had already finished and I was just packing up when a traditional Mariachi band arrived to lead the first dance and entertain the guests – I just couldn’t help but pick up my camera again to snap a quick couple of pictures. It wasn’t the vantage point that I would have chosen, but the images still convey the charm and warmth of their day.

The Groom is a shy and private person, so we agreed that only the Bride would be featured in the blog (with the exception of the signature image above which they have kindly allowed me to use to show off my creative side) – but I would like to thank them both for allowing me the privilege of being their Arab/Spanish/American/Mexican British London Wedding photographer.

And if you would like to discuss your own plans and check whether I am available for your date, please do get in touch here. In the meantime, I hope that you enjoy the small selection of images from the wedding.
