Best London Wedding Photographers – Islington Town Hall, Shagun & Aytan
Shagun & Aytan contacted me about their intimate civil ceremony at Islington Town Hall at the end of July. We met for a coffee the following week and I was delighted when they booked me to capture their special day from amung the Best London Wedding Photographers!
Shagun is Indian and Aytan is half Turkish Cypriot – they had chosen to have a small civil ceremony on the anniversary of the day they first met, and are planning a huge reception for extended family and friends in Cyprus next year. I met with Aytan and their family and friends on a beautifully sunny day outside Islington Town Hall, and when Shagun, dressed in a stunning turquoise sari, arrived with her bridesmaids, we proceeded inside for the ceremony.
Islington Town Hall, located on Upper Street is a stunning listed building, with a sweeping marble staircase and very elegantly appointed ceremony rooms, which provide a really timeless backdrop for wedding photography.
After the ceremony, Shagun, Aytan and their guests relocated to restaurant Haz to continue their celebrations privately. It was such an honour to capture this special moment for them both, and I’d like to thank them again for choosing me from the Best Wedding Photographers in London to be such a special part of their day. The follow on reception in Northern Cyprus was quite something…. Blog to follow soon!
Below are a selection of my favourite images from their day – please feel free to comment, like and share this post using the buttons below.

I would like to add to this blog. The other half of Aytan’s heritage is Italian. Haz is the restaurant where we had our first date. We did have our Big Fat Cypriot-Indian Wedding Reception in North Cyprus at the end of May. And guess who covered it?!
John Erksine Photography of course!!! Because he is brilliant. Look at how gorgeous this blog is!!
